Public Health Sciences (Ph.D.)

The focus of the PhD in Public Health Sciences is to train researchers and professionals with skills essential to address contemporary public health problems at the individual, community and population levels. Drawing on the social-ecological framework, public health is an interdisciplinary field encompassing public health practice in the community; scientific research utilizing theoretical perspectives from disciplines such as anthropology, economics, geography, gerontology, medicine, nursing, psychology and sociology. The PhD in Public Health Sciences is in the Behavioral Sciences Concentration with a focus on health behavior, health promotion, community health and engagement and strong research methodology.

Respiratory Care (MS)

The UNC Charlotte Master of Science in Respiratory Care (MSRC) program is a fully online program designed for practicing respiratory care professionals. The program prepares respiratory therapists to become leaders and consultants ready to advance the respiratory care profession through leadership and evidence-based practice. Students have the opportunity to pursue relevant topics that can be applied to current practice. The program provides graduates with additional knowledge, skills, and competencies that support advancement opportunities in clinical leadership, educational leadership, scholarship and research, and disease management.

Social Work (MSW)

The Master of Social Work offers an advanced generalist curriculum that embraces the profession’s commitment to social and economic equity, individual and community well-being, and scientific inquiry. Guided by the core values of social equity and relationship building, our curriculum prepares future social workers for careers in a variety of clinical and community practice settings. Graduates of the program will be able to synthesize and apply a broad range of knowledge and skills to refine and advance the quality of social work practice and the profession.


The Graduate School and the Graduate Admissions office in the Reese Building, Fifth Floor, is temporarily closed to allow contractors to complete some needed work in the space safely.
