Auto-Admit Program Overview

The Auto Admission program makes it easy for outstanding UNC Charlotte alumni to continue their academic journey into graduate school.

Through this pathway, eligible alumni can complete a simplified graduate application and receive an expedited admission decision, keeping their goals and progress on track while remaining part of the Niner Nation community they know and trust.

How It Works

As a high-achieving UNC Charlotte graduate, you can accelerate your admission into select master’s programs — no entrance exams, no letters and no extra hoops.

Eligibility

To qualify for Auto Admission, applicants must:

  • Be a Spring 2026 UNC Charlotte graduate.
  • Have earned an eligible undergraduate degree.
  • Apply to an eligible participating graduate program.
  • Meet the academic requirements established for the Auto Admission initiative.

Please note: Applicants with a cumulative GPA below 3.0 may require additional review. If additional information is needed, only the materials necessary to determine admission eligibility will be requested.

Your undergraduate major may already qualify you for a streamlined path to graduate school. Use the Auto Admission Program Finder to discover which College of Computing and Informatics master’s programs you’re eligible to apply for.

Not a computing graduate? You may still qualify. Many CCI graduate programs welcome UNC Charlotte graduates from a wide range of academic backgrounds—including business, health sciences, biology, engineering, mathematics, social sciences, and more. If you need additional preparation, CCI offers Bridging Pathway coursework in programming and/or mathematics to help you build the foundation for graduate-level success.

Waived Requirements

Graduates applying through the Auto Admission Program will complete a graduate application, with the following requirements are waived:

  • Graduate Entrance Exam (e.g., GRE, GMAT, etc.)
  • Recommendation Forms or Letters
  • Statement of Purpose or Personal Essay
  • Official Transcripts (if internal to UNC Charlotte)

Bonus: If you enroll in your admitted program, your graduate application fee will be refunded to your student account the first semester in your graduate program—making your application free!
