Reynolds Center for Graduate Life and Learning supporting graduate students from acceptance to commencement

Categories:

From acceptance to commencement, the Thomas L. Reynolds Center for Graduate Life and Learning (CGLL) is committed to supporting every step of the graduate student’s journey. Founded in 2010 by Katherine Hall-Hertel, the current associate dean of graduate academic and student affairs, the Reynolds CGLL provides comprehensive resources both in and out of the classroom.

The center enriches the graduate experience with a variety of offerings, with many credit-bearing courses and various workshops for graduate students to participate in. The CGLL also offers social events, competitions and experiential learning opportunities, which is a teaching method that emphasizes learning by doing and making connections between theory and practice.

“During the academic year, we have anywhere from three to nine workshops a week with all different types of topics,” said Jill Huerta, the assistant dean and director of the CGLL. “Many such as academic writing, resumé writing, cover letter writing, interview skills, networking, teaching, communication, public speaking, personal finance, time management, all kinds of topics.”

The Reynolds Center supports professional development, wellness and community building for the over 6,000 graduate students on campus across more than 150 different doctoral, master’s and certificate degree programs. Whether graduate students are on campus or online, all are eligible to participate. To get involved and stay updated, please check the CGLL’s event calendar below.
