The Graduate School Teaching Fellowship, managed by Dr. Judith Krauss, Faculty Associate of Teaching for the Thomas L. Reynolds Center for Graduate Life and Learning, is a two-semester training opportunity for doctoral students pursuing careers that include college-level teaching.
In the fall, “We examine theories of learning, motivation, and memory to see how classroom best practices can be created that are unique to each Fellow, their discipline, and their content,” Dr. Krauss said. Fellows practice teaching for their cohort, giving and receiving collaborative feedback. In the spring, each Fellow serves as an Instructor of Record and is observed teaching in their classroom to further refine their teaching skills.
Recruiting for the fellowship occurs each April.
